I was born in Harrogate and lived there for 33 years before moving to new employers in Hertfordshire in 1999. A new opportunity allowed me to return to Yorkshire and I moved to Thorner, in May 2015.

I continue to be employed in the pharmaceutical industry, an area that I have supported in a number of roles for approximately 40 years.

On moving to Thorner, I wanted to learn more about the village and attended Thorner Parish Council meetings, as a member of the public, for approximately 18 months. This led to my initial co-option to the Council in 2019.

Apart from a desire to ensure the continuance of a safe and successful village community, I aim to ensure that the council operates in a transparent and accountable way, and maintain open communication with the entire parish of Thorner.

I was born in Leeds and moved to Thorner 10 years ago, having previously spent several years in West Sussex where I managed and ran a not-for-profit Nursing Home in Lindfield.

My sister has lived in Thorner for over 20 years, its character and history are what attracted us, so we chose to move here.

My background is in Nursing – Hospital and Ward work – managing several large Nursing homes and more recently working as a Community Nurse. With a little aside enjoying working in the Post Office Deli.

I moved to Thorner 1993 and still live at Kirkfield Lane.

I have been involved with the Parish Council for 10 years or more, after a career in engineering, which started in 1962 until I retired.

I believe Thorner is a working village and developed in to what it is today because of this. Development is always the threat but can also be an asset if it benefits the village.

My husband and two young sons moved to Thorner on 5th November 1999. We bought our farm house at an auction in The Beehive, my husband has been renovating it ever since.

I am a Leeds girl with the exception of a brief stint as a nanny in Milan, I have always lived in the city.

I run a family printing business along with my sister and son and have worked in the business of 42 years.

I have had a desire to put my name forward to join the parish council for some years and now I work less hours in my business, I decided to put my spare time to some good use.
